Save the Date! GFDD to host Dominican Films Showcase in Washington, D.C.

Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) thru its initiative Dominican Films Showcase will be screening on November 19-23, 2014, a sample of the best films recently produced in the Dominican Republic, including La Montaña; Lago Enriquillo: preludio del cambio climático; ¿Quién manda?; 3 al Rescate and Sol Caribe. Special guests and activities for the children will also be part of the program.

This GFDD initiative will be celebrated at the Art Museum of the Americas (AMA) of the Organization of American States (OAS), located at 201 18th St, NW. Washington, D.C. This GFDD series of events aim to contribute to the enrichment of the film culture of the Dominican Republic and bring its unique brand of cinema to a wider audience, while enhancing social awareness and promoting constructive change on Dominican Republic related topics.

This event is FREE and open to the general public.

A panel discussion on “The Film Industry in the Dominican Republic as an engine of socioeconomic development” will also be celebrated by GFDD as part of the DFS activities that week, on Thursday, November 20, 2014.
